Nancy and I grew up together.  Her family lived behind my house on Drummond Ave, she on Langdrum Lane.  She loved the Redskins and the Terps and was better in all the neighborhood sports then most of the guys!

I went to Nancy Kimmel's funeral at Pumphrey's Funeral Home, Bethesda, Md. December, 1976.  Perhaps you could contact the funeral home to confirm.

The recent B-CC post caught my eye: about three people I liked and  remember all the way back to Somerset Elementary.  I don't understand the date that "Patty" mentioned Nancy's funeral.  Did she die in 1976? and Rusty commented in 2015? -- Whether or not - it is nice to think of you "Rusty" as I walked by your house every day on the way to Somerset. Remember you and Jamie Ament (now Usrey) "dating" for a time.  "Patty" what fond memories all those years ago.  I have been many years here in Northern California which is now on fire.  Anyone who prays - that's what our county needs these smokey weeks. Thank you.   I am so thankful for living in the  D.C. area those years in the 50s and 60s.   Vickie (Skow) Shea

Vicki, Nancy passed away in 1976 from a heart infection.  She thought she had the flu. The old neighborhood has changed a lot. We are sending our prayers to you and all the families in harms way. There is a reunion this year, hope everyone can attend!

Thanks, Rusty - Prayers are probably the most powerful weapon against this fire at this time.  When is the reunion?  It would be really fun if I can make it happen..

The funeral for Nancy Kimmel was held in December, 1976 in the funeral home's chapel.  I remember talking to Nancy, Linda Windell and Cecile Lo at our first 10 year BCC reunion in June 1976.  I thought that Nancy looked very chic, but tragically, she was very sick.  She looked very slim and pale.  She had a infection,  would not take all of her antibiotics, and died in November or December.  She had gotten so sick that in the fall she moved into her parents home so they could take care of her.  They urged her to go back to her doctor and Nancy refused.  I'm surprised I can rember so much after all those years.  My mother had run into some BCC parents in the grocery store (in 1976) and they had told her the very sad strory.  Mother called me and told me so I went to the funeral.    To Vicki Skow: I'm glad you came forward with your questions and I'm glad to see all of the good things you are doing with your life.  If you have any more questions about Nancy or anything else, my phone numbe is 202-363-0963.
