This is a real shock! I communicated with her through this website in 2016 when this site was set up for the 50th reunion. She was in the process of moving out of the DC area to St. Michael. She was on of the members of the Pot Luck we set up in 10th grade with Sue Venners, Jean Doody, Debbie Morrison and Sue McCalip. I am sorry we didn't keep in touch. She was a very funny girl and we all had some crazy adventures our first year at BCC.

Pam is my only friend that I've known from kindergarten all the way through high school and beyond. We started out at Oakland Terr. Elem. and then went to NCC Elementry around 3rd grade. We started hanging out in about 4th or 5th grade... walking the tressel after school, talking and laughing our heads off. At her house, her Grandmother thought I was totally nuts. We got into mad trouble together at KJHS. But Pam somehow managed to always have excellent grades and emaculate handwriting! We went through a lot of trials together in HS. We were total gym-rats. Played on most every sports team available for "girls" at the time, we ruled the basketball court - she was "Jeff" to my "Mutt." We managed to stay connected over the years and I enjoyed trips to the beach with Pam and friends. I was thrilled for her when she moved near Solomons Island into a new condo a few years back. I didn't have a chance to visit her in person, but we spoke often on the phone. She cared, and always asked about my kids and adored her brother, sister-in-law and their children! Her life carried with it a stoic and dry sense of wit that was SO appealing to me, she would often have me peeing my pants. I will always recall Pam with a warm spot in my heart and a big smile...seeing her laugh heartily in my mind's eye.

I'm so sorry to hear of Pam's passing.  I first met her at North Chevy Chase Elementary school and we grew up in the same neighborhood.  We also belonged to the same Girl Scout troupe.  She will certainly be remembered for her "joie de vivre" and humorous outlook on life.

Sadly, I've not seen Pam since 1982 but all the descriptions of her great sense of humor, her fierce loyalty and her love of life perfectly describe the warm and fun-loving friend I knew long ago. Someone mentioned crazy adventures - she was dependably mischievous in the best sort of way. We never got arrested but we might have had trouble running for office.

My memories are strengthened and will always be cherished. Wherever you are I join the chorus of voices that hold you close and dear.

On Pam's passing and the others who have gone before her. It takes me a while to see the simple essence that I paint in my work. You can jazz it up, waste a lot of paint but in the end the less you paint the better. This morning while watching a movie, it came to me an obvious fact.

We are only here for a little while, some less than others. I lost a friend at 10 who was killed by a car. ( Eddie) . I am a visual person and it is the way I think. I saw a field of fireflies in the computer part of my brain. It is almost dusk and I remember thinking how wonderful this was and is. Warm, colorful , thousands of yellow lights for our entertainment. One of the miracles of nature. Free......we just have to look and enjoy. They do not live long nor do we. The brightness of them varies , not sure why but like people some are brighter than others. They put their warmth out in variations . It is easy then to see them. Some people in our garden put out more warmth than others....and I for one am glad I knew Pam and the others who are now gone from the forest. It would be only sad if we forgot them and did not keep them alive in our hearts........There they live with us until our light dims slowly and then goes out. That should not be sad for we had our turn. Then we will join them in another forest.... Thank you Pam for being one of the bright ones , even when things were not so good. That is the true test of a real lightening bug, shine when it is grey or cold, rainy or not...You did well. Love Mark

I have strong memories of the summer after we graduated from B-CC and Pam and I worked together at the VA.  She, along with the two Sues, got me started on smoking (which took me 5 years to get off) and going to bars in DC looking for fights with girls.  Good times.
