Sadly, Rick Newman passed away in September 2025. He was 77. There was a memorial gathering for him but no obituary. However, his friends from Mr. Steele's physics class remember him well. Arnold Oshinsky, one of those classmates, remembers him as "witty, cheerful, and brilliant." Rick, you are missed by many.

I have very fond memories of Rick from the Math Club and Math Team, which we were both very active in, all three years at B-CC.
I last saw Rick at the 2007 reunion of Mr. Steele's physics class, where I had a nice talk with him.
