The reservation phone number is 1-888-591-1234 or book directly at https://www.hyatt.com/events/en-US/group-booking/BETHE/G-BC60. Single and double room rates are $149 per night (plus taxes). The name associated with the block is "BCC High School 60th Reunion." These reserved rooms at a special price are only available until June 5th.
FRIDAY NIGHT BONUS (you need a separate ticket): As an added bonus and incentive to come to the reunion, our classmate, Mark Wenner, and his band, The Nighthawks, will be performing at Hank Dietle’s Tavern, 11010 Rockville Pike, Rockville, MD 20852 that Friday night (June 26th) starting at 9:00 pm. There will be plenty of time to attend the cocktail party at Clyde’s and then make your way to Hank Dietle’s to see The Nighthawks. For those of you who don’t remember, Hank Dietle’s is on Rockville Pike basically across from where White Flint Mall used to be. You may remember it as an old school redneck beer joint, but it has been rebuilt after a fire and is now a serious music venue for both local and national touring bands. The Nighthawks fit both categories.
Here’s a link to the Hank Dietle’s Tavern website where you can check out the event and purchase tickets ($20): https://www.hankdietles.net/. Tickets will also be available at www.Eventbrite.com. However, both sites appear to only list upcoming events approximately two months in advance, so check it out in late April or early May. Tickets may also be purchased at the door depending on availability. You can go to www.TheNighthawks.com to find out more information about Mark’s band. If you have any further questions about the event, you can contact Bill Wax at BillWax6@gmail.com.

Over the past 58 years, Mr. Steele's 1965-66 AP physics class has been having reunions of their own every few years. In 2017, over a quarter of the class, along with Mr. Steele and his son Colin Steele III, went out to Wyoming for the solar eclipse. A CBS News clip of that eclipse reunion trip can still be viewed at: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/star-students-hold-special-class-reunion-under-solar-eclipse/. The CBS news piece also includes a mini-reunion of Mr. Steele and five members of the class, visiting the old classroom at B-CC the day before leaving for Wyoming. Between that meeting and the reunion in Wyoming, there were a total of 11 members of the class participating. And counting family members, there were 24 of us watching the eclipse in Wyoming.
Mr. Steele turned 90 this year, and his class of 1966 is still honoring him. On February 18, 2024, 18 of the 29 living members of that class met in person and on Zoom for another "Mr. Steele Reunion" and early birthday celebration at his home in Winchester, VA. View photo collage here.
