After high school I attended University of Maryland, which was an awesome and life-changing experience. I came into my own and grew in many ways, academically and socially. I went on to get a PhD in sociology from Brown and then had a long and successful and satisfying career as a college professor, first at Rutgers and then at University of New Hampshire, where I was a faculty member, administrator, researcher for over 35 years. I retired in 2013 but sort of flunked retirement and am now working with our new Master in Public Policy program on a part-time basis. Malcolm and I met (again) at the end of my college days and had an up and down time for a while, my moving to Providence for graduate school and the challenges that presented. But we made it and married in 1974. We have two beautiful children, an awesome son-in-law, and a grandchild on the way. Life is good and the foundations laid at B-CC are very, very significant.
