Donn lived a couple of blocks from me so we spent a lot of time kicking around Bethesda together as youngsters....I remember the time he freewheeled his bike down the steep hill on York road at brack neck speed only to t-bone a car, leaving himself in the hospital and having to recuperate at home for a week or so....but what I remembe best is the time in the 6th grade at Bethesda Elementry when Donn perforrned his Elvis Presley imitation in front of the class, lip-syncing to "Hound Dog" while gyrating and swiveling just as Elvis did, and I said to myself,
"This guy is going to have no problem getting chicks"
Butch, where is the Washing DC baseball museum? Can't seem to locate it....would love to sneak a beer in and drink it in memory of Miller and and his grandpop...
sorry about the Chevy error, I was never good in math and I was usually tipsy when Miller took me for a spin it......also sorry that money grubbing developers ruined Miller's life.....greed is most certainly a terrible thing.
Miller was a character all right....many an afternoon Al Soto, who lived just down the street from Miller on Leland St., John Clark, my brother and I and a gang of other pals, would gather in his folks' basement and drink beer, all the while keeping an eye out for his parents as we were underaged....once a bit older, Miller "inherited" a 1956 Chevy Belair that looked just like this one....
.
his passing is a sad and tragic loss for not just B-CC High School, but for all of Bethesda..
